If you cried like a baby at the end of Toy Story 3, thinking it was the last time you were going to get to see the antics of Woody and Buzz Lightyear, well then dry your eyes! Tom Hanks (who voiced the cowboy in all three Pixar flicks) says that a fourth installment of the much-loved talking toy flicks in going to happen.
When asked by BBC’s Tim Muffet if we’ll see a return of everyone’s favorite playthings, Hanks said, “I think there will be, yeah. Yeah, yeah, think they’re working on it now. There you go.”
Since Andy went off to college at the end of Toy Story 3, and gave his much-loved plastic friends to a new little girl, we’re thinking the new movie will revolve around her. Whatever happens, we’re sure the next installment will be a winner. Toy Story 3 became the highest-grossing animated film of all time, beating a record previously held by Shrek 2. The movie has also grossed more than $1 billion worldwide.
We’re not sure how it happened, but we’re almost more attached to the Toy Story brand than our kids are. We can’t wait to treat them to another day at the movies when this one comes out.
